SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two militant operatives in Ramban area of Jammu division.

A police spokesman in a statement said that district Police Ramban jointly with SOG Jammu busted a militant module by arresting two valley based militant operatives and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from their possession.

“Initial investigation reveals that two militant operatives identified as Umar Ahmed Malik son of Abdul Ahmed Malik and Suhail Ahmed Malik son of Mohammad Yaseen Malik, both residents of Semthan, Bijbehara, Anantnag, working under a militant plot hatched by Kashmir based militants and their Pak based JeM handler Aqib @ Alfa from Budgam calandistenly travelled from Kashmir to the International Border at Vijaypur, Samba and received Arms and Ammunition dropped with the help of drones,” said the spokesman.

“Recoveries include two AK-74, one Pistol, 16 grenades, nine Ak-Magazines, 269 Live Bullets of Pistol and two Magazines. Further investigation of the militant module is going on,” said a police spokesman in a statement.
