An official said that two militants were killed so far in the ongoing encounter at Poshkreeri village in Anantnag.
The identity and the affiliations of the slain militants could not be ascertained immediately.
Earlier, a police spokesman said a gunfight broke out between militants and forces at Poshkreeri village of Anantnag.
