Two government employees were feared drowned after the vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into the River Jehlum in north Kashmir’s Uri town of Baramulla district on Monday evening.
According to reports, a car, which was reportedly on its way from Uroosa to Sultandaki, skidded off the road and plunged into river Jhelum near Shadwani area.
The missing victims were identified as Mohammad Sayeed from Sultandaki and Maroof Ahmed a resident of Ramgahi.
A joint team of police, SDRF and locals immediately launched a rescue operation but the two government employees were not traced till the last reports came in.
Relative of missing appealed the administration to take up the matter with Pakistan Administered Kashmir authorities to trace dead bodies in their area.
Police have registered a case in this regard.
