SRINAGAR: Two more militants were killed in an encounter with the counter-insurgent forces in Sugoo village district of south Kashmir’s Shopian district taking the death toll of militants to five, police said.
An official said that two more militant was killed in the gunfight in Sugoo area of Shopian district.
He added that the identity and group affiliation of slain militants were being ascertained.
The search operation is on in the area and further details are awaited.
Earlier, police had said that two militants were killed in the encounter.
This was third encounter since Sunday. On Sunday five militants were killed in Reban village and four were killed on Monday in Pinjoora village of the district, taking the total number of militants killed in last four days to 14.
