SRINAGAR: Two non-local residents alleged of kidnapping a girl in north Kashmir’s Uri town have been reportedly arrested by the police.

A senior police officer told Kashmir Life that two non-locals identified as Hardev Singh son of Joginder Singh and Gurjant Singh son of Beera Singh, both residents of Gurdaspur Punjab were arrested after they allegedly lured a girl for a job through a social networking site and subsequently tried to kidnap her.

He said that soon after receiving information, a police team headed by a senior officer arrested them in main town Uri.

He added that a case under FIR Number 25/2021 under sections 366, 109 IPC has been registered in this regard.
