In a tragic accident, two people were dead on Friday after a car carrying four family members plunged into a river. However, two bodies were later retrieved from the river and two people are still missing. The incident took place in Khalsi area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Ladakh district.
Reports said that an Alto car on board with four family members including a minor drowned in the Indus River in Khalsi. The car bearing registration number JK10 /1693 was on its way from Khalsi to Gumta, when the incident took place.
Police said that two dead bodies were retrieved later and two people are still missing.
Commenting on the incident, a police official said that rescue operation is going on to trace the other two people as well.
