Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two overground workers (OGWs) in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A police spokesman in  a statement said, “On a credible input Bandipora Police along with security forces arrested two militant associates identified as Mohammad Saleem Gojer Banyia son of Abdul Aziz Banyia resident of Bandipora and Mohd Iqbal Khatana  son of  Mohammad Ismail Khatana resident of Rajouri.”

“As per the investigations, it is learnt that they were involved in facilitating infiltration and providing logistic support to militants,” he said.

“Arms and ammunition and other incriminating material was recovered from their possession. Police has registered a case FIR No. 80/2019 under relevant sections of law at PS Bandipora in the matter,” he added.

“All the incriminating materials recovered has been taken into case records for the purpose of investigation and probe their complicity in other terror crimes. Further investigation in the matter is going on,” said police spokesman in a statement.
