SRINAGAR: Authorities on Thursday released two more former MLAs of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from more than one-year-long detention.

The two senior leaders, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat and Aijaz Ahmad Mir, who were under house detention were informed by the authorities on Thursday morning that they were free to move out of their house and their detention has been revoked, reported news agency KDC.

Both, along with other leaders and scores of political workers were taken under preventive detention on August 5 last year after the centre scrapped special status and bifurcated the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State into two Union territories.

Initially, they were lodged in SKICC Sub jail and then shifted to MLA Hostel in Srinagar.

After remaining lodged in MLA Hostel for some time, they were shifted to their respective residences for house detention.

The detention order against the duo was finally taken back after more than thirteen minutes and are allowed to go anywhere they wish to go.
