Two PHCs in JK’s Shopian Attain NQAS Certification

   

SRINAGAR: The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Govt of India has accorded National Quality Assurance Standard (NQAS) certification to two hospitals in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, health officials said.

Dr Abdul Rashid Paray and team at PHC Herman, along with Dr Parvaiz Ahmad and his committed staff at PHC Sedow, have achieved the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification.

NQAS, shorthand for National Quality Assurance Standards, is a rigorous certification programme in India that assesses and acknowledges the quality of services provided by healthcare facilities.

The successful certification of PHC Herman and PHC Sedow underscores their adherence to stringent healthcare standards set by the government, ensuring enhanced healthcare delivery.

The two PHCs shall receive an additional yearly annual grant of Rs 3 lakh each as part of NQAS certification for next three years under the National Health Mission for further strengthening.

Mission Director, NHM J&K, Babila Rakwal said the certification was accorded in recognition of the high standards of quality and performance maintained by the hospitals. The MD NHM informed that under NHM all efforts are being made to strengthen the health care delivery system to the utmost satisfaction of the general public.
