Two Religious Groups Clash in South Kashmir, 10 Injured

   

SRINAGAR: A clash between two groups at Masjid Sideeqi in Razloo Kund left several people injured on Saturday late evening. The injured have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Police sources said that two groups, Deoband Jamaat and Ahle Hadees Jamaat, clashed and assaulted each other at Masjid Sideeqi, Razloo Kund, resulting in injuries to at least 10 persons.

“There was a risk of a breach of peace, and the culprits were not arrested on the spot, following which several were later taken into custody by the police,” a police source said.

A police official said that all injured individuals were shifted to the hospital for treatment. He added that 10 persons have been booked under FIR No. 126/170 BNSS Act and taken into custody at Police Station Kund.

The investigation into the incident has been initiated. (JKNS)
