SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested yet another woman for drug peddling. From them, some cash and Charas was recovered.

In Ganderbal, police said they arrested a woman drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from her possession. They were investigating FIR 6 of 2020 registered with Kangan police station.

Pertinently Ganderbal police had earlier arrested a woman for drug-related offences and she happens to be the sister of this lady.

Subsequently, the woman drug peddler was arrested by Ganderbal police. Contraband substances including 800 grams of charas powder, 520 grams of charas and 14 litres of illicit liquor were recovered during the investigation.

Officers investigating the case also learnt that both the lady drug peddlers were involved in selling drugs to the youth of Kangan, Ganderbal.

Notably, 400 grams of charas and Rs 4,22,750 believed to be the proceeds of narcotic crime has been recovered in this case, the spokesman said.

Police said they have arrested two militant associates in Pulwama.

They detained duo were identified as Aquib Maqbool Lone resident of Ratnipora Pulwama and Naseer Ahmad Hurra resident of Gulbugh Pulwama.

The police spokesman said they were involved in assisting militants operating in the areas of Pulwama. From them, he said “incriminating materials including explosive substance and ammunition” were recovered. Holding them responsible for “conspiring to facilitate” the “carrying out of terror attacks” and “disrupting peace and normal activities”, the police have registered FIR No 11/2020 under relevant sections of law.

In Srinagar, the spokesman said the police have solved a theft case and arrested two persons from whose possession the stolen material was recovered. The police were investigating a case (FIR 18 of 2020) registered with Batamaloo police station regarding burglary from two residential houses.

During the course of the investigation, sleuths using scientific methods of investigation were able to identify two accused persons involved in the commission of the crime. They have been identified as Adil Bashir Dar and Tabish Javed Bhat both residents of Bemina. Police have also recovered stolen property including CCTV cameras and LED TV from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Batamaloo where they remain in custody.
