Two sisters missing from Handwara village

SRINAGAR: Two young sisters Saboora Mushtaq, student of class 12th and Mehwish Mushtaq age 15 , are reported missing from their Braripora home at  around 2:30 pm on Tuesday. Police said they have registered a case and the investigations have started.

Locals alleged that some unknown persons have kidnapped the two sisters after disturbing certain household things including rice and bedding.

A police officer in Srinagar who is privy of the report said the elder girl had sent the youngest to his father who was working in the fields. “We have witnesses who saw the two sisters coming to Handwara,” the police officer said.

The family had seen a line written on their wall. “If you want to have your kids safe, avoid searching for us,” the line said. Police said they are investigating who could have written the line. “Investigations have started and we are trying to assess if any person had visited the family in the day.”

The family said they have some cash also missing from the home.

When Contacted DCKkupwara said he has no information regarding teh matter and suggested this reporter to contact the police. Local police authorities, however, did not pick the phone.
