Police have arrested two school teachers for allegedly thrashing a student in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Friday.

A police official told Srinagar-based news agency GNS that the arrests came after the student namely Nasir Ahmad, who studies in 12th class at Boys Higher Secondary School Safapora, lodged a complaint before police in which he alleged that he was thrashed by his teachers.

The police registered a case against the accused teachers and instantly arrested them, the official, adding, “They have been lodged in Safapora police station”.

The thrashing of student triggered protests in the area and the protesters were demanding stern action against the accused persons.
