Two Years of Central Deputation Now Compulsory for IG Empanelment of IPS Officers from 2011 Batch

   

SRINAGAR: The Centre has made it mandatory for Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the 2011 batch and onwards to complete at least two years of service on central deputation at the SP or DIG level to be considered for empanelment as Inspector General (IG) at the Centre, according to an official order.

In a communique to all state chief secretaries, it was stated that Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the 2011 batch onwards must complete at least two years of central deputation service at the SP or DIG level to be eligible for empanelment as Inspector General (IG) at the Centre.

As per the order, a minimum of two years of central experience at the SP/DIG or equivalent level will now be a prerequisite for empanelment to IG or equivalent posts at the Centre for officers from the 2011 batch onwards. (KNC)
