Army killed a 12th class student in Markundal village of Sumbal in district Bandipora during the night resulting in protests. The Army fired upon the protesters to disperse them resulting in the death of another youth. Police spokesman confirmed the killing of two youth.

The people of the area are with the dead body protesting against the killings and demanding the arrest of the Army men involved in the killings.

The locals told Kashmir Life that during the night the Army came in private vehicles and fired upon Irfan  Nabi son of Gulam Nabi Ganai, who was outside of his house killing him on spot.

When the killing of 18 years old Irfan spread after his nears and dears make and hue and cry, hundreds of people came out of their homes and started protesting against the Army, who according to locals was still in the village.

They added that Army men opened firing to disperse the protesters resulting in the injury to another youth, Tariq Ahmad Leharwal, of Kondebal Safapora, who later succumbed to his injuries.

The people were still protesting alleging that the personnel of 13c RR are involved in the civilian killings.

KL tried to contact the defense spokesman but he did not respond to the frequent phone calls.
