SRINAGAR: The results of the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) for 84 subjects have been declared, with more than 4,000 candidates qualifying for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
The National Testing Agency (NTA) ordered fresh examinations for candidates who appeared for the English, Commerce and Sociology papers after an expert committee identified factual, typographical, translation and language-related errors in the question papers.
The NTA released the UGC-NET answer key on August 16, nearly two months after the examination, and issued a special notice regarding the three affected subjects. Later the same day, it announced that the English, Commerce and Sociology examinations would be conducted afresh in September.
The re-examinations are scheduled for September 9 and 10. Candidates appearing for the fresh tests will not be required to pay any additional examination fee.
