Amid the complete shutdown in the valley, the civic polls are going on from today morning all over the state. A mixed response was observed from different districts of the valley, while in Jammu people tuned out in hoards to cast the vote.
As many as 1500, (5.1 percent) people cast the vote in Srinagar, 36 (12 percent) in Budgam, Islamabad 92 (6.1 percent), Baramulla 1054 (3.7 percent), Kupwara, 1350 (26. 3 percent) , Bandipora 410 (2.5 percent), Handwara 930, Leh 6200 (44. 4 percent) and Kargil 34350 (73. 6 percent), till 1:00 pm.
In Kashmir, the highest number of votes were casted in Srinagar district and lowest were recorded in Budgam district of central Kashmir.
Earlier, the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K released a list of votes being cast all over the state till 11:00 am.
In Islamabad district, the number of polling wards are 4, and a number of polling stations are also 4, and 5% of people tuned out for the voting. In Budgam, with a single polling ward and a polling station, at least 3% of people tuned out to cast the vote. Similarly, in Bandipora, the number of wards are 16, number of polling stations 23 and 2% have casted the vote. In Baramulla, a number of wards are 15, the number of polling stations are 35, with 3% of voting percentage.
In Kupwara, a number of wards are 18, with the same number of polling stations, and 18% of people have cast the vote. In Srinagar, with 3 polling wards and 35 polling stations, 3.5 % have turned out to cast the vote. In Leh district, with 13 polling wards and 21 polling stations, 26 % have cast the vote.
In Kargil district, with a number of 13 polling wards and same number of polling stations,33% votes were recorded. In Jammu, with a number of 153 polling wards, and 583 stations, 34% of votes were recorded. In Poonch, with the number of 26 wards and 26 stations, 47% of people have turned up for the voting. In Rajouri, with 59 wards and 59 stations, 53 percent of votes were recorded till 11:00 am.
