The Umrah pilgrims from different parts of the valley on Friday evening staged a protest demonstration at Srinagar airport after they missed their flight from Delhi towards Jeddah.
An official from the airport said that around eighty to ninety pilgrims who were scheduled to leave today in Indigo flight from Srinagar airport but due to the bad weather the flight could not take off which led the pilgrims to miss their flight from Delhi airport to Jeddah.
Commenting on this, an official from the Srinagar airport said that the airport administration has no role in it as they are responsible till Delhi, “if they had the same flight from Delhi we would have somehow managed but they had booked a separate flight from a different company,” he said.
