UN resolutions Relevant and Vital for Kashmir: Asiya Andrabi

SRINAGAR

A group discussion organised by Dukhtaran-e-Milat Saturday passed the unanimous resolution, underscoring that the UN resolutions are still relevant for the Kashmir resolution.

The reports received by KNS informed that the group discussion titled ‘UN Resolutions January 5 1949 Past, Present and Future’ held at a local hotel here, witnessed the participation of several columnists, Journalists, Civil society members.

The members while discussing the relevance and the vitality of the security council resolutions passed in 1949 for Kashmir resolution, stated that the resolutions must be impended the earliest and that the vitality of the same has never turned obsolete.

President High court bar association  Mian Abdul Qayoom, Senior Journalist Zaheer-ud-din, noted columnist Dr Javed Iqbal, DAK President Dr Nisar-ul Hasan and chairperson DEM Asiya Andrabi were among the penalises who spoke on the occasion.

During  the second round of the session, Sardar Atique Khan from PAK also participated in the discussion via Skype.

The panellists later unanimously passed the resolution that the UN resolutions are the basses of  the ongoing struggle and that people in unison must strive for the implementation of these resolutions so that the Kashmir ‘dispute’ could be resolved in accordance with the peoples’ aspirations.

The participants further remarked that the UN resolutions are as vital at present as they used to be in the past.
