Army on Saturday flagged off a group of 20elderly citizens belonging to district Kupwara for a ‘Sahrai-e-Quami’, a National Integration Tour, a defense statement said.

“A National Integration Tour, ‘Sahrai-i-Qaumi’ is being organized for the elderly people by the Vajra Division of Indian Army,” it said.

Under its operation Sadhbavna, twenty people from Karnah tehsil are scheduled to visit Chandigarh, Solan, and Shimla from May 10 to May 22. “Aim of the tour is to provide exposure to rich Indian heritage and culture and imbibing the values of national integration,” the statement said.

The statement while giving details said that participants will be visiting various army and civil administrators during the tour apart from various other educational institutions including Punjab Engineering College, Military School Chail and APS Dagshai. Besides, Baglihar Dam, IRCON railway tunnel, Jamia Masjid Srinagar, Bagh-e-Begum at Jammu, Chandigarh’s Rock Garden and Sector 17 is also on the tour itinerary.
