A day after Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik appealed United Jihad Council (UJC) Chief Syed Sallahuddin to form a committee to investigate the Sopore killings, unionist leaders reacted, saying, ‘the separatist’s remarks won’t impact the state government’s function’.

While the ruling PDP played down the Malik’s statement, saying Malik’s remarks don’t matter and in no way will affect the state government.

The other half of the coalition government in the state, BJP too slammed Malik’s remarks. A known female face in BJP camp in Kashmir, Hina Bhat, a loser from Amira Kadal seat, said: “Malik has no right to comment on these issues.”

Panthers party supremo, Bhim Singh also slammed state government for the separatist’s remarks.

Notably, while addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Wednesday, JKLF chief castigated the Mufti government for denying the political space to separatists. And in protest, he announced a 10 days ‘jail bharo’ campaign starting from Friday.
