Independent lawmaker and  MLA Langate Er Rashid Sunday accused government of India of using all ways and means to curb the ongoing resistance movement seeking resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute. While addressing a public meet at Zaloora Sopore Rasheed said, “Government of India stands badly exposed by calling Sarbjit Singh as India’s National hero and killing Kashmiris by labeling them as terrorists.” He further said, “The records and facts reveal that majority of the militants killed in various operations during last three years have taken to armed struggle due to atrocities faced at the hands of various security agencies and having a very good reputation in the public besides being highly qualified. These incidents are enough to reach the conclusion that use of force by security agencies against Kashmiris and slapping of PSAs on Kashmiri youth have not helped in improving the situation, but have rather added to the problem and given more confidence to the Kashmiris to fight for the resolution of Kashmir issue.”

Er Rashid accused state government of failing not only on the political front but also discriminating various historic areas like Sopore, when it comes to development. He said that the government run by ‘Mantaries and Bhabus’ is visible only when VIPs travel in their cavalcade and use ‘Lal Batties’ to impress general public who deserve something bigger than these useless methods to impress them.

He asked PDP and NC not to talk about Autonomy and Self Rule because these “drawing room made” formulas do neither address the sacrifices of the people of Jammu and Kashmir nor find any takers in New Delhi and Islamabad.

MLA Langate stressed upon the new government in Pakistan not to adopt beaten tracks while talking to India over Jammu and Kashmir dispute but to take first Kashmiri leadership especially UJC (Unite Jihad Council) into confidence who truly represents the sacrifices of Kashmiri people.
