Lt Governor inaugurates Annual Youth Festival ‘Sonzal-2022’ at University of Kashmir

The decision was announced by Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha after inaugurating the Sonzal-2022 on Wednesday.

“The Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University has raised the issue of infrastructure and faculty shortage,” Sinha said. “Earlier also, I have discussed the issue about shortage of faculty in the Universities. As an immediate solution, retirement age of the faculty is being raised from 62 years to 65 years.”

The orders, he said, would be issued shortly.

LG said the shortage of faculty is an issue that is common to the varsity campuses across the country. He said the enhancement of the retirement age is a quick solution. The decision, however, will not impact the selection processes going on for the recruitment of the new faculty.
