Unknown gunmen on Thursday night shot dead a civilian in Gulzarpora area of Awantipora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports said that the militants fired upon Manzoor Ahmad Lone near Higher Secondary School at Gulzarpora at around 9:50 p.m.
Lone, a resident of Dogripora village, suffered serious bullet wounds and died instantly, they said.
The body of the slain was later recovered by the joint team of police and army late in the night from the spot.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tahir Salim also confirmed the killing to GNS. He said that the body of the 36-year-old has been taken to nearby hospital for all legal medico formalities.
