SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted searches at various locations in the Batamaloo and HMT areas of Srinagar city in connection with a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
“The investigation pertains to individuals who, allegedly at the behest of “adversaries” and in criminal conspiracy with others, were involved in orchestrating a campaign to manufacture fabricated and malicious narratives. This campaign disseminated twisted and false information to provoke people into unlawful and violent activities,” reads a statement.
The statement further noted that police, after obtaining search warrants from the NIA Court, searched the houses of Obais Riyaz Dar, son of Riyaz Ahmad Dar, a resident of Bonpora Batamaloo, and Sahil Ahmad Bhat, son of Noor Mohammad, a resident of HMT, Zainakot.
“During the searches, incriminating materials and electronic devices were seized. Additional searches at the houses of other identified suspects involved in malicious and seditious propaganda will be conducted in the coming days,” the statement read. (KNO)
