As soon as the proceedings of the house started the opposition members stood up and raised the murder of a minor girl in Kathua and witness heated protest.

An eight-year-old girl, who had gone missing a week ago, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, triggering protest in Legislative Assembly.

Opposition alleges that government is raising the slogan of “Beti Padhao Beti Bachao” on other side girl child is murdered.

Opposition member condemns the government for its failure to prevent cases of sexual violence against children in the province.

Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the government had failed to save the girl child and demand exemplary punishment for the people involved in such incidents.

Waqar Rasool Congress lawmaker said that the government failed to trace the girl for eight days and demands strict action against the concern police officers for failing to trace the girl.

“You should suspend the local SHO,” demanded GM Saroori of Congress party.

The opposition legislators also alleged that minorities were being harassed in Jammu region.

Responding to the opposition, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Abdul Rehman Veeri said the government has constituted a special investigation team to probe the murder.

Members didn’t satisfied with the reply from the government they staged a walkout from the and after 5 minutes come back.
