People protest in border Uri area on Monday against  cellular companies for not installing adequate number mobile towers in their area.

Scores of people from Dardkote, Isham,Uroosa Govalta and Nawa Runda gathered on Srinagar Muzaffarabad road near LOC at red bridge  to halt the traffic services on the highway for some time,  to register the protest against  the cellular companies for not providing mobile towers to their villages, despite back to back requests from people in last couple of years.

Locals told Kashmir life “We are facing immense problems due to lack of mobile network towers in our areas as signal is remaining weak all the time”.

“As i am reaching home from work, the network is going off, which is always giving me tough time”, said One of the protestor Fasil Iqbal, a local resident from Uroosa adding that despite several requests, nothing has been done so far to mitigate this problem in the area and the area needs the attention of government and they appeal the local MLA to kindly look into the matter.

Later a team of Uri police along with Tehsildar Uri, Mohammad Aslam, reached the spot, and ensured the protesters that they will forward their massage to the higher authorities.
