A complete shutdown is being observed in Boniyar and Chandanwari areas of Uri in north Kashmir on Wednesday against the “murder” of a 25-year-old boy from Uranbowa Uri.

Residents of  Boniyar, Uranbowa and Chandanwari assembled at Uranbowa Uri, and blocked the Srinagar-Muzafrabad high way as a protest demonstration to demand justice to the victim’s family.

Earlier, police said that body of the missing person identified as Azam Nazir Khan was found hanging with the ceiling in a building in Azad Gunj Baramulla, and circumstantial evidence and injury marks on the body of the deceased suggest this prima facia as a case of homicide.

An eyewitness said that people from Boniyar, Uranbowa and Chandanwari have blocked the Srinagar-Muzafrabad high way at Uranbowa Uri, demanding justice to the victim’s family.

The deceased, a gym trainer by profession was missing from December 13, and his body was found on December 18. Meanwhile, police have taken the cognizance of the case and investigations in this regard are going on.
