Srinagar
Threatened by unidentified gunmen last year in Srinagar, one of the leading contractors of Food Corporation of India from Kashmir, Haseeb Ahmad Tramboo’s house at sector 7 Channi Himmat Jammu was attacked by unidentified gunmen during the intervening night of 1st and 2nd December. However, no loss of life or property was reported.
According to sources, Tramboo’s PSOs retaliated, however, the attackers fled from spot under the cover of darkness.
Meanwhile, talking to KNS, Tramboo confirmed the attack on his house by unidentified persons. “It was around 12:30 mid night. I heard some gunshots and called my PSO’s who were on the 2nd floor. One of the PSO retaliated firing from 2nd floor of house while another took position in the ground floor, both (PSO’s) shot several rounds”, said Tramboo.
He said that PSO’s had witnessed the movement of two gunmen who were running away after retaliation from them (PSO’s). “The gunmen couldn’t be identified in the darkness”, added Tramboo.
He said that he immediately informed the local police station Channi Himmat, adding “Police party reached the spot within 10 minutes and cordoned off the house and started search operation in the area to trace assailants. In the morning all senior police officers including DIG Jammu visited my house”, said Tramboo.
When asked if the Police have registered case in the matter, “I’ve filed a written complaint in this regard before the police and I’m sure a case must have been registered”, he replied.
Take From Jammu Newspaper
Meanwhile newspaper from Jammu reported that Police averted a major tragedy when they prevented Haseeb Tramboo son of an influential contractor Zaffar Tramboo from opening fire in the premises of Food Corporation of India at Bahu Plaza during the day
Quoting police sources, the newspaper reported that before the tenders could have been opened, Haseeb of Tramboo Transport Company, presently residing at Channi Himmat, was accompanied by his father’s PSO. He pulled out latter’s weapon threatening the other claimants to desist from participating in the tendering.
Before the police present on the occasion could have got into the action, Tramboo waived the gun in the open and charged other members present on the spot. Police overpowered the culprit, Haseeb Tramboo and his PSO. But the two could not be arrested due to the pandemonium in the hall of the FCI. They could recover the weapon.
SDPO Shamsher Singh Sambyal denied of having any information about the incident. SHO Trikuta Nagar Sameer Jillani said that they have taken appropriate action.
“It was in a spur of moment that the man pulled out the weapon, but police acted swiftly to snatch the revolver to avert any incident,” said SHO Sameer Jillani. He also confirmed that he along with his men was on the spot and has recovered the gun which the holder of the weapon had claimed to be ‘an official one”.
“We are in the process of verifying the fact about the actual possession of the gun and as soon as we will arrive to a conclusion, we will take the necessary action,” Jillani assured.
Newspaper reports that Haseeb enjoys close association with some top NC cabinet minister. And police’s topsy- turvy statement on the issue before confirming the episode are straight indicators about the ‘non-seriousness’ of the action which otherwise could have led to grave threat to lives of many.
The facts are different alltogether.
Why and how would someone point a gun at any participants of FCI Tender “After the process of tender filing” was already over.
How can this act be carried out by anyone for that matter in presence of some 25 Policemen deputed to guard every inch of the tendering venue.
How would someone resort to this kind of an ill behaviour when he himself has been a victim of the FCI Mafia, already been threatened by anti-public & anti government elements among FCI contractors and blackmarketers mafia, on countless occasions.
A person who has been known for having risked his life to prevent the decades old practise of misappropriation of FCI stocks meant for the poor and needy sects among the people of J&K, a person who provided lead to Kashmir Police in uncovering the multi-crore Sugar scam that was hollowing the roots of the state exchequer since uncountable number of years….being accused of such acts is SAD…

If this is what happens to the ones who stand for the general public interests……No one will ever dare to do this thankless job ever again
