Prof Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan in Jammu on Wednesday.

Prof Musarrat briefed the Lieutenant Governor about the status of the ongoing teaching, research programmes and extra- curricular activities in the University.

He also briefed the Lieutenant Governor about its functioning and about various administrative and academic issues of urgent importance.

The Lt Governor emphasized the importance of continuing hard work by the faculty and students for achieving the highest standards in teaching, research and extra-curricular activities.

Meanwhile, a delegation led by Chander Prakash Ganga, former Minister met Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan and apprised him about the development issues of Vijaypur Constituency.

The delegation including Chairman and Vice-Chairman Bari Brahamna Municipal Committee demanded for construction of Government College at Bari Brahamna town besides development of sports infrastructure in their area.

The Lt Governor assured the delegation to review all issues raised by Ganga and urged him to continue working vigorously for the advancement of the people’s welfare.
