Prof Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor Jamia Millia Islamia, called on Governor NN Vohra in Jammu at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
Prof Ahmad discussed with the Governor various important research projects in Earth Sciences which are presently on-going, particularly in the field of climatic changes and its impact on glaciers. The Governor urged Prof. Ahmad, who is a leading Earth scientist, to more closely involve the Jammu and Kashmir Universities in the on-going researches.
The Governor and Prof Ahmad also discussed certain areas which need large attention for strengthening research work in institutions of higher learning.
