Former Deputy Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly and renowned National Conference (NC) leader Moulvi Abdul Rashid passed away on Saturday. He was 90.
Moulvi Rashid, who was three-time MLA Banihal, breathed his last in Maligam village of Pogal Paristan in Banihal district of Jammu early today.
He was a close associate of Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and remained in jail for several years with him.
In 2002, he won as an Independent candidate from Banihal after NC denied him the mandate.
