SRINAGAR: PL Razdan, veteran media personality, theatre and drama maker, died today in New Delhi after losing his covid 19 struggle amid a bleak health situation in the national capital..

He’s also received the top award for radio drama productions, the Akashvani awards, three times in different categories. He completed each project successfully by adhering to high technical, hard work, and commitment requirements.

The untimely and tragic death of Sh.PL Razdan, a stalwart broadcaster and reputed Prasar Bharti programme maker, is a massive loss to the broadcasting landscape. In both Kashmiri and Urdu, he was recognized for having the most resonant and vivid drama voice.

He worked as a producer in the Yuv Vani segment of Akashvani Srinagar for a long time. He later worked as a producer drama section of Srinagar AIR and produced ace drama’s which were In enjoyed and appreciated by the listeners.

He worked as a producer for the famous Kashmiri programme “Pamposh” and the urdu magazine “Khirman” at Jammu Radio Station. He was a consummate drama voice and performer who had a starring part in a number of radio plays. His death has left a vacuum in the public, among his friends, and among his peers.

Mr. Ashwani Kumar, Chairman of the Himalayan Media Foundation, said that his death was widely mourned, with condolences flowing in from all of the stations where he worked around the country.

He said that Jammu and Kashmir had lost a top broadcaster who had spent more than seven decades working in both radio stations and as a child artist.

His wife and four daughters survive him. During his tenure at Radio Kashmir Srinagar, he received several awards and honors, including a national award for best Drama production. After retiring, Mr. Razdan continued to produce with excellence.
