Hindu extremist Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Monday demanded arrest of Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani for having a meeting with Pakistan High Commissioner in New Delhi.

Terming the meeting between Geelani and Pakistani envoy Abdul Basit as “an insult to India”, the VHP international working president Praveen Togadia demanded separatist leader’s arrest.

“The action of the Kashmiri separatist leader is obviously an insult to India. He should be arrested and tried for sedition,” Togadia said in a statement.

The VHP leader’s statement comes a day after his outbursts against the J&K Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, over the release of separatist leader Masrat Alam Bhat from Jail.
