SRINAGAR: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday visited victims of attack in Hariparigam village of Awantipora to express sympathies with the family of slain SPO Fayaz Ahmed in which his wife and daughter were also brutally killed.

In a statement issued here the PDP President said such dastardly attacks further vitiate the political atmosphere and thus should be unequivocally condemned by one and all.

“Violence continues to snatch away families from us, leaving behind pain and wounds which are irreparable,” she said.

On the occasion Mehbooba Mufti urged authorities, as requested by the family, to absorb the services of Liaqat Ahmed Bhat, son of slain SPO Fayaz Ahmed in the civilian administration.

Extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, Mehbooba prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and courage to the family to bear the irretrievable loss.

Mehbooba Mufti was accompanied by Party District President  Pulwama and DDC Chairman Bari Andrabi, DDC members Dr Harbaksh Singh and Manzoor Ahmed and other senior workers of the party, said the statement.
