After the opening of the Darbar on Monday morning Governor N.N. Vohra met several senior Police, Central Police and Intelligence Agencies officers to be updated about the obtaining law and order situation in the Valley.

Spokesperson of the Raj Bhavan stated that Governor is holding discussions with Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to review security-related and other important matters.

Earlier on Monday the Governor’s Secretariat, which closed at Jammu on 27th April evening, reopened at the Raj Bhavan, Srinagar.

The official spokesman said that the Governor N. N. Vohra went around the various wings of the Raj Bhavan and met the officers and staff of the Governor’s Secretariat. He advised all the functionaries to ensure cleanliness, efficiency, promptitude and proper maintenance of the official records.

He also directed time bound digitization of all important records and de-weeding of irrelevant papers. The Governor also went around the Raj Bhavan estate and directed assured readiness of the firefighting system and proper upkeep of the gardens.

Meanwhile, a delegation of senior National Conference leaders led by Ali Mohammad Sagar met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan.

The delegation expressed deep concern about the prevailing unrest, deteriorating law and order situation, loss of civilian lives, and failure of governmental machinery to deliver good governance and instill a sense of security among the people.

The delegation stressed the urgent importance of a dialogue process being initiated, involving all stakeholders, as the only means to restore normalcy and harmony in the State.

Governor observed that, as he had been repeatedly appealing in the past years, it is of crucial importance that the leaders of all political, social and religious organisations join hands and work collectively for restoring harmony and educating the people at large, particularly the youth, to effectively counter all factors and forces which are inimical to the restoration of peace and harmony in the State.

The delegation comprised Chowdhary Mohammad Ramzan, Dr. Mustafa Kamaal, Mubarak Gul,  Mohammad Akbar Lone, Ali Mohammad Dar,  Ab. Majeed Bhat,  Qaiser Jamsheed Lone,  S.D. Shariq, Ghulam Ahmad Shah, Dr. Bashir Veeri, Adv. Mohd. Ishaq Qadri,  Mohammad Syed Akhoon, Adv. Showkat Ahmad Mir,  Peer Aafaq Ahmad,  and  Javid Ahmad Dar.
