SRINAGAR: A wall collapsed at the parking area of JLNM Hospital in Srinagar’s Rainawari on Saturday, causing damage to several vehicles.
Eyewitnesses said that the collapse occurred due to continuous rainfall which weakened the structure. “There was a crash, and within moments, the wall crumbled, damaging several parked vehicles,” said a hospital visitor.
Affected vehicle owners criticised the incident, stating that maintenance and structural issues contributed to the collapse. “This could have been a disaster if anyone was inside a vehicle at that moment. Authorities must address such issues before a tragedy occurs,” said a car owner.
Officials from the hospital administration and local authorities reached the spot to assess the damage.
With rains continuing in the Valley, concerns have been raised over the stability of additional structures. Locals have urged authorities to conduct safety audits to prevent further incidents. [KNT]
