A local court Thursday granted bail to Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Muhammad Yasin Malik and his associates in a case related to waging war against state that had been filed by police against him vide FIR number 47/2015.

Malik was released in open court after he was brought for extension of remand by the police before the court.”

“Court of second additional district and session judge after hearing prosecution and defence lawyers, granted interim bail to Malik till January 21, 2016,” the counsel for Malik, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Siddique on behalf of Bar Association told CNS.

Shortly after the bail was granted by the court, Malik and his associates were produced before the court by the police for extension of remand. The counsel of Malik appeared before the court and informed that session’s court has already granted him bail in the case.

After asking IO and prosecution if Malik was required in any other FIR to which they responded negative, the court ordered his release in open court.

Malik was represented by Bar Association general Secretary Advocate Bashir Siddique, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Advocate Urfi, Advocate Marya and Advocate Ulfat.

Police had registered the case against Malik and others in Police Section Maisuma vide FIR No 47/2015, Under Sections 307 (Attempt to Murder), 148, 149, 427, 332, 353, 152 of RPC (most related to inciting violence and waging war against the State.”
