The residents of Sumlar and Gugarpati villages of Badndipora district on Friday held a protest demonstration against the R&B department of the district for ignoring the dilapidated condition of roads in their village.
Reports said that scores of people from both the villages of Sumlar and Gugarpati today morning blocked the traffic movement against the department’s negligence for years to repairs the roads in the district.
The protestors alleged the district administration of turning a blind eye towards the sufferings and miseries of the residents.
Earlier, anti PHE protesters had blocked the Bandipora-Srinagar road at Saderkoot Payeen area of the district. The protesting villagers sought an early redressal of the problem.
The residents had approached the district administration several times earlier but there was no initiative taken by the authorities, sources said.
