Police Saturday claimed to have busted a weapon snatching module of six persons by arresting trio involved these incidents.

A police handout said that manhunt was launched to trace the assailants who had snatched rifle from a CRPF personnel in Nai Basti Tral a few days before.

Police said that after receiving specific information, Police Tral detained Nazir Ahmad Rather aka Afridi son of Ali Mohammad resident of Dadsara, Tral in connection with this incident.

During the questioning, he revealed that he along with five others have planned and executed the attack and weapon snatching at Tral Town. He further revealed that same group is also involved in the attack on Police guard at Qoial, Pulwama where they left behind the snatched weapon from CRPF constable at Tral.

The other associates of Afridi who have been found involved in these incidents are Rafiq Ahmad Bhat aka Rafiq Dada resident of Astan-Mohallah Tral, Shakoor Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Quoil, Pulwama, Aqib Ahmad Daboo son of Ghulam Mohammad Daboo resident of Wav Masjid, Tral, Ubaid Ahmad aka Molvi son of Mohammad Shafi Shah resident of Tral Payeen and Irshad Ahmad Khan aka Arkhan son of Abdul Rehman khan resident of Lajoora, Pulwama.

Pertinently, there is nothing against Aqib Ahmad Daboo son of Ghulam Mohammad Daboo resident of Wav Masjid, Tral, Ubaid Ahmad aka Molvi son of Mohammad Shafi Shah resident of Tral Payeen, Shakoor Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Quoil, Pulwama and Irshad Ahmad Khan aka Arkhan son of Abdul Rehman Khan resident of Lajoora, Pulwama with regard to militancy related incidents.

Those who have been arrested are Nazir Ahmad Rather @ Afridi son of Ali Mohammad resident of Dadsara, Rafiq Ahmad Bhat@ Rafiq Dada resident of Astan-Mohallah Tral and Shakoor Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Sultan resident of Quoil, Pulwama.
