SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Tuesday said that the weather will remain dry in Jammu and Kashmir till March 6.

According to J&K Director of MeT, Sonam Lotus, dry weather is expected to continue in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh till March 6 and during this period the maximum temperatures are expected to rise further.

He added that the night’s lowest temperature in Srinagar was 1.6 degree Celsius while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of 0.7 degrees Celsius.

Gulmarg, the famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 4.5 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of minus 3.3 degrees.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 1.1 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 1.2 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded a minimum temperature of  10.0 degrees Celsius, Katra town 11.5, Batote 6.6, Banihal 8.0 and Bhaderwah 2.8 degrees as the minimum temperatures.
