Gulmarg in the north part of Kashmir along with Leh town in Ladakh region recorded the season’s coldest night.

Gulmarg the famous ski-resort recorded a low of minus 7.5 degrees Celsius, a Meteorological Department official said.

Leh town was the coldest in the state with the mercury there settling at minus 8.2 degrees Celsius.

While Srinagar recorded minus 0.8 degrees Celsius, Qazigund and Kokernag towns in south Kashmir registered minimum temperatures of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius and minus 0.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, the official said.

The northern Kashmir town of Kupwara recorded a low of minus 1.6 degrees Celsius, the official said.

In the Jammu region, Katra recorded 9.2, Jammu was at 8.9, Batote 4.6, Bannihal 7.0 and Bhaderwah 2.0 as the night’s lowest temperatures.

The MeT Department has forecast a dry spell to continue till November 21.
