After valley witnessed a fresh snowfall on Monday, the meteorological department of Kashmir has predicted snow and rains till January 23, 2019.

The Met Department official said that widespread moderate to rather heavy rain and snowfall is likely to occur during the next 24 hours.

“A western disturbance is active over the state. Its intensity will decrease from Wednesday onwards”.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of recorded minus 0.3 degrees Celsius.

Qazigund has recorded minus 0.6 degree Celsius, Tourist destination Pahalgam has recorded0.2, degree Celsius while Gulmarg has recorded minus 4.0, respectively.

The Kokernag area of district Islamabad has recorded minus 0.3  and Kupwara has recorded minus 0.6.

The Jammu city has recorded 11.9, degree Celsius; Banihal has recorded 1.1, Batote 2.1, Katra 10.0 and Doda 1.9 degree Celsius.

Leh has recorded minus 5.6, while Kargil has recorded minus 14.0 degree Celsius.
