Questioning Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s promise of ‘goli se nahi, baat banege boli se’, Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin Thursday said there is a mismatch between the words and deeds of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its leadership.

In a press statement, he said it seems whole Kashmir has been turned into a jail and people have been caged ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.

“Has the visit of Prime Minister increased the importance of Kashmir issue? We used to say that elections are no substitute for Kashmir issue. But now this government has proved us right that elections and Kashmir issue are two separate issues,” Hakim Yasin said.

Stating that there is nothing new in PM’s visit, the PDF chief said, “Prime Ministers used to come and go in the past. It is not for the first time that a Prime Minister is coming to Kashmir. But the way present government has launched a massive crackdown against its political opponents shows that there is mismatch between the words and deeds of PDP and its leadership.”

“Where has Mufti sahib’s promise of ‘goli se nahi, baat banege boli se’ gone?” he asked.
