Why JK Opposition Has Not Invited Three Parties for October 3 Meeting, Asks Tarun Chugh

SRINAGAR: Tarun Chugh, the BJP National General Secretary, questioned on Thursday why the opposition parties scheduled to meet in Jammu on October 3 have not invited three parties led by Sajad Lone, Altaf Bukhari, and Ghulam Nabi Azad.

In a statement, Chugh argued that the opposition leaders have accused the BJP of mistreating the people of J&K.

“During the three-decade rule of these parties, J&K was known as the epicenter of terrorism in India. Currently, these same parties are accusing the BJP of fostering a climate of terrorism in J&K,” he said. “Today it is evident that Prime Minister Modi has transformed J&K into a hub for tourism and development, resulting in a decrease in terrorism in the valley since the BJP assumed power. People can witness the tangible outcomes of government initiatives. The opposition’s allegations lack credibility.”

Regarding elections, Chugh noted that in the previous District Development Council (DDC), Panchayat, and Block Development Council (BDC) elections, opposition parties formed alliances, but millions of people voted against them.

“Because of this, an alliance has been formed between Muftis and Abdullahs. Even though they were previously elected, the people of J&K will not embrace this alliance, underscoring their recognition of the true nature of these parties,” Chugh concluded. (KNS)
