Katra hospitality sector has asked Chief Minister that if the Bollywood cancelled its schedule of shooting in Kashmir because of the unrest, why it could not move to parts of Jammu and instead went to Himachal. Hotel & Restaurant Association Katra representatives led by Rakesh Wazir had met Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti at the India Travel Mart (ITM) in Jammu.
Wazir said that turmoil in Kashmir led to cancellation of various film shootings. These included Salman Khan starrer Tube light which, Wazir said, was shifted to Himachal Pradesh. “We could not convince them even, that these shootings could be done at other peaceful beautiful locations like Patnitop, Sanasar, Bhaderwah,” Wazir regetted.
Wazir, however, hoped that with the renewed publicity launched by the government, tourists and film units will come back to the state. He said the government should focus on remove the notion that atmosphere is not conducive for tourists. He wants the government to focus on forthcoming Navratra Festival.
Wazir insisted that while Vaishnodevi and other tourist spots in Jammu and Ladakh regions were undisturbed by the recent disturbances in Kashmir, still media hype all over world severely affected these spots.
