Scores of workers led by Union President of Casual labours Association Wildlife Range Khrew, Bhat Jeelani gathered outside their regional office and staged a protest in favour of their demands.

The protesting employees demanded timely allowance of their wages and an amendment in SRO-520 along with regularization in their services.

“Our wages are pending for a long time and as per the latest job policy, we should be paid according to our working days but nothing of such kind is implemented,” said Bhat Jeelani, Union President of casual labours Association Wildlife Range Khrew.

He said the employees of Forest department who are working in the department of Wildlife under deputation should be returned to their department as soon as possible.

Moreover, the non-gazetted employees who were also a part of this protest also presented their demands during the demonstration.

“Pay anomalies should be removed and pay of two-and-a-half Sundays must be added to our salary in the ideal case but it has not been implemented in our services yet,” said the provincial president of Wildlife non-gazetted official association J&K, Mohammad Amin Rather.

The protestors sought the intervention of authorities and the Governor of State to look into the matter.
