SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that he would remain in the UT until the successful completion of assembly elections.
Speaking at Abhinav Theatre Jammu while attending the Abhinandan Samaroh organised by the All Minority Employees Association of Kashmir, LG Sinha said, “People often assume that I am here to contest elections, but I want to clarify that I have no interest in politics.”
Sinha said that achieving peace is a process that cannot be purchased but requires deliberate efforts and govt is working towards achieving this goal.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are determined to root out terrorism and provide a safe and secure environment to the people. Terrorism is breathing its last breath and we will soon finish terror ecosystem from the soil of J&K. Peace and development has brought a qualitative change in people’s lives and standard of living,” he added.
Highlighting J&K’s diversity, LG said that JK is a land of major religions and respect for all sects has enriched cultural heritage.
LG said said that the administration will support the 5163 youth for self-employment registered with the Relief & Rehabilitation Department. (KNS)
