SRINAGAR: Strong windstorms and a blizzard at Razdan Pass have hampered snow clearance operations, preventing the reopening of the Gurez-Bandipora road, officials said.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gurez, in an advisory stated that despite continuous efforts by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), the road could not be reopened due to extreme weather conditions.
SDM Gurez said, “Windstorms and a blizzard at Razdan Pass are hindering snow clearance operations. Despite tireless efforts by BRO, we are unable to reopen the Gurez-Bandipora road today. Drivers and passengers are requested to cooperate and stay safe at home. All are advised to follow traffic advisories and confirm road status from the concerned TCPs.” (JKNS)
