After advisory from health officials and bad weather, government Saturday decided to extend winter vacations till March 2, 2015. though the officials cite only bad weather as the reason.

The officials told Kashmir Life that schools will remain closed till February 28, Saturday and the  the next working day would be on March 2, 2015. The order in this regards was issued as extension of order vide no 772-Edu dated 14-11-2014.

The order is to be abided by all the government and recognised private institutes up to the higher secondary level, failing in Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division.

Meanwhile, Sainik School Manasbal is also re-opening on March First, an official spokesperson said.

“As the state extended winter vacations up to February 28 as bad weather still hovers over valley, the school authorities have decided to re-open school on March first,” he said.

The spokesperson asked teaching and non-teaching staff to report at school premises by 11:00 in the morning while students are supposed to reach school by 4:00 pm in the evening.
